Greg Austin is a down home, straightforward and to the point of the heart singer, songwriter and musician. For 20 years he has been diligently performing and writing contemporary Country music for his adoring fans. His first CD of original songs is aptly titled “Greg Austin” and features 10 of his best originals to date.
Greg wrote his first song at the age of 14 and started performing professionally at the age of 15. Although his dream is to one day secure that ever elusive recording contract, he also enjoys writing songs for himself as well as other up and coming artists.
Greg has sung demos for hit songwriter Jerry Vandiver who co-wrote the smash top 10 single, “For a Little While” for Tim McGraw. He has also worked with Ted Hewitt, producer of top selling Nashville artist, Rodney Atkins.
In 2001 Greg opened for multiple CMA award winning “Duo of the Year”, Montgomery Gentry at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN. Greg also claimed the title of 2004 “Kicks 99 Guitar Pull Star” and was honored to open the show for Trace Adkins, SheDaisy, Billy Dean, Dierks Bentley and Darryl Worley.
Having a heart for charity, Greg recorded the song “Dear Santa”, written by Nashville’s own Jeff Pedigo and Parrish Stanton, which sold over 1,000 copies in the Myrtle Beach, SC area as well as received airplay on several local stations during the Holidays. His song “Move a Mountain”, which he co-wrote with talented writer Tamra Smith, has also received radio airplay nationwide.
Greg claimed the winning title of “2011 Sing for Chevy” where his jingle for Herndon Chevrolet in Lexington, SC has been played on the radio as well as TV spots around the South Carolina area.
In December of 2012, Greg traveled to Reno/Lake Tahoe, NV for a full photo shoot with photographer Becky Papa and was featured in a promotional spot for his title song “Motorcycle Cowboy” at the Carson City Harley Davidson showroom for his forthcoming CD. He also performed there in 2013 for Street Vibrations.
Most recently Greg entered his song “On Her Mind Again” in the TouchTunes Breakout Band 2014 Contest. His song was chosen along with almost 500 others to be included on all TouchTunes jukeboxes Nationwide. The winner with the best original song/performance will receive $3,000, a national music promotion on TouchTunes, and the opportunity for a single release via Photo Finish Records.
Greg is preparing to enter the studio in Nashville, TN to start work on his 2nd CD project, titled “Southern Breeze” which he plans to release in 2019. He currently resides in Reno, NV with his family.
With a commanding stage presence, a great country voice and top-notch songwriting to back it up, Greg Austin is sure to have a winning formula for success in the Country Music Industry.
